Planning an RV Road Trip

Taking an RV trip is a whole different kind of traveling experience. Are you used to luxury hotels and tiny containers of luxury shampoo? Now, you’ll be living on the road with just the bare necessities and probably very few toiletries. Accustomed to backpacking through the woods, covered in sweat and dirt and a 40-pound pack? The RV is a vehicle-you will stay warm, clean, and have a much less rugged time. Still, there are some basics to keep in mind before you take off. No matter what the predicted weather conditions or the age of your car, you should bring an emergency kit with flashlights, first-aid supplies, washer fluid, basic tools, jumper cables, flares, and paper towels. And always remember a cell phone, as that can help in many bad situations. Bring enough food and water for several people and many hours, and don’t forget extra clothing. Also, plan a route ahead of time. It won’t feel like your holiday if you’re lost and driving up a random highway while everyone is grumbling about the time and the length in the backseat. Road trips can be a fun, relaxing, and inexpensive way to spend time with your loved ones and explore the country, but be careful!
